She was predeceased by: her husband William "Bill" Smart; her sons, Wayne Coutts and Rob Smart; and her siblings, Eleanor Bennett (George) and Frank Wooder.
She is survived by: her children, Donna Shaw of Mount Forest, Barry Coutts (Kara) of Nova Scotia and Ken Smart (Marg) of Conn; her daughter-in-law Eileen Coutts of Listowel; and her sister-in-law Joan Wooder. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen's memory may be made to Cancer Patient Services or Diabetes Canada.
