He was predeceased by: his parents, Rene Vandewalle and Zulma Vandewalle; his siblings, Bertha Hondekyn (Roger), Maria Van Ceunebroucke (Maurice), Camiel Vandewalle and Michel Vandewalle; his parents-in-law, Leon and Marguerite Opsomer; and his siblings-in-law, Christiane Louwagie (George), Michel Bouckaert, Willy Louwagie and Hector Louwagie.
He is survived by: his wife Leona Vandewalle; his children, Margaret Luyten (Peter), Philip Vandewalle (Ruth), David Vandewalle (Lisa), Rick Vandewalle (Colleen) and Ginette Betts (Sean); his grandchildren, Melanie (Justin), Jeffrey (Colleen), Denise (Mathew), Derek (Morgan), Calum, Claire, Luke, Jeromy, Reagan, Ryan (Ryian), Darren (Sydney), Kyra and Sarah; his great grandchildren, Corbin, Jillian, Norah, Spencer, Brooke, Declan, Ryleigh and Jacob; his sister Madeleine Bouckaert; his sisters-in-law, Maria Vandewalle, Cecile Louwagie, Monique Louwagie and Beatrice Louwagie (Leon); and also Belgium.
