He was predeceased by: his wife Bela; his parents, Joao Fernandes and Alda Gomes; and his brothers, Paulino and Jose.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Danny, Cindy, Kevin (Benita), Alana (Angelo), Amanda (Kyle), Karen (Danny), Andrew, Jessica (Helder) and Alyssa; and his siblings-in-law, Maria (Santa), Jorge and Natividade. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In honour of our beloved Bernardino, in lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
