We are sad to announce that on March 11, 2021 we had to say goodbye to Martin West (Maynooth, Ontario). You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He is survived by: his wife Irmgard; his children, Andre, Edna (Brandy) and Mona (Tim Boyle); and his grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Dominic Poster) and Shannon (Eric Busto).

As expressions of sympathy, donations to QHC North Hastings Hospital, or the L'Amable Bible Chapel would be appreciated by the family.

“I’m very appreciative of my time working for him and the life-lessons he taught me along the way. He would never let me do something tomorrow that i could do that day or let anyone step over something today that might trip them up tomorrow. Disciplined, passionate and always there with us until a job was done (perfectly), I carry a piece of what he taught me everyday with my team. He was a great boss and an incredible man and I am a better person for having having known Martin West. RIP.”

“I always appreciated his quest for the perfect quarry stone... and I figured I’d ‘made it’ when he let trusted me to rope a piece of wall (although I recall it was the backside 😂). From the days spent on the flat-roof building to being a very small part of the stunning feature pieces he was entrusted to create for his clients, i loved working for him. The time at the end of a hot day inside his truck (with windows down after he stopped to buy us all a soda), are some I will forever remember.”
