He was predeceased by: his wife Arlene Meyer (Straus); his parents, Simon Meyer and Irene Meyer (Dietrich); and his brothers, George (Dorothy) and Carl Meyer (Doris).

He is survived by: his children, Kim Zinger, John (Kelly), Lori (Grant Winter), Scott (Debbie), Jason (Jodi) and Kirk (Judith); his grandchildren, Amy, Lisa, Eric, Deanna, Jasmine, Joe, Danny, Christine, Elissa, Cody, Emrah, Noah, Ruth, Denver and Austin; his sister Ana Mae Zister (Jim); and his sister-in-law Pat Nickels (Nick).
