He was predeceased by: his wife Anita; his parents, Englebert Guimond and Yvonne Coté; his siblings, Rhéal, Normand (Thérese) and Carmen (Frank); and his great grandchild Siobhan McKay.

He is survived by: his children, Mike Guimond (Suzanne) of Kirkland Lake, Lise McKay (Larry) of Kirkland Lake and Luc Guimond (Deborah Hutchison) of Kirkland Lake; his grandchildren, Jamie McKay of Angus, ON, Ian, Kaitlyn McKay of Kirkland Lake, Darian (Mikey), Baylee and Lanie Guimond of Kirkland Lake; his great grandchild Cayden McKay of Angus, ON; his brothers, Ghislain (Henriette), Firmin (Jeanine) and Gilbert (late Pauline); and his sisters-in-law, Mae Bilodeau and Jeanne Aquino. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Museum of Northern History or the Teck Centennial Library.
