He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy Messier; his parents, Dora Messier and Rosaire Messier; and his sisters, Irene Gauthier and Eva Oshaughnessy.

He is survived by: his children, Denis Messier (Glenda Messier) and Nicole Wotton (Kelly Wotton); his grandchildren, Daniel Messier (Amanda Mackenzie), Tyler Messier (Amanda Popert), Erin Messier (Sam Powless), Christopher Addison (Zandra Hernandez) and Kayla Wotton; his great grandchildren, Hailey, Madison, Sophie, Allie, Bentley and Lucia; and his brother Rene Messier (Karen).

Memorial donations may be made in Jerry's name to Blanche River Health Foundation.
