He was loved and cherished by many people including : his significant other Maureen; his child Kristen Szoczek (Peter); his grandchildren, Jesse and Joey; his parents, Thomas and Betty; his siblings, Tim, Karen (Brad) and Susan (Bene); his siblings-in-law, Linda and David; his nieces and nephews, Melissa, Jamie, Evan and Spencer; and his pet Molly.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, June 26th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Markey-Dermody Funeral Home (1774 King St E, Hamilton, ON L8K1V7). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, June 26th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hamilton and Burlington SPCA would be appreciated.
