She was predeceased by: her brother David Grant; and her brother-in-law Bill Wagg. She is survived by: her husband Roger Melanson; her children, Michele Melanson, Steve Melanson, Jack Melanson, David Melanson (Lisa), Tammy Whitehead (Paul) and George McAllan; her sister Tina Wagg; and her sister-in-law Doris Grant. She is also survived by many grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

As an expression of sympathy, donations in memory of Geraldine may be made to the Diabetes Canada or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
