He was predeceased by: his daughter Gail; his parents, William Martin and Katherine Martin; his siblings, Jack, James and Molly; and his brother-in-law Ken Shine (Donna).

He is survived by: his children-in-law, Dale Martin of Oshawa, Randy Martin (Donna) of Oshawa and Robin Small (Jeremy) of Ottawa; his grandchildren, Cathy, John, Michael, Doug, Denielle, David, Brandon, Tina, William, Rusty, Mollie and Max; his great grandchildren, Victoria, Nikki, Peige and Adelaide; his great great grandchildren, Jaedyn and Jaycii; and his siblings-in-law, Dalton Shine and Clayton Shine. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
