He was predeceased by: his mother Jean; his stepfather Bill McCaskie; his father Manly Sutherland; and his sister-in-law Brenda. He is survived by: his wife Linda; his children, Vance Sutherland (Diane) and Marcy Sarginson (Scott); his grandsons, Travis Sutherland and Cameron Sarginson; his siblings, Mike (Gail), Fred (Crystal), Wayne and Dianne Rose (Charlie); and his aunts and uncles, Jabez and Thelma Sutherland. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Parkinson Foundation Durham Region Chapter would be gratefully appreciated.
