He was predeceased by: his parents, Noel Bessette and Delima Gauthier-Bessette; and his brothers, Gerald and Eugene Bessette. He is survived by: his spouse Lizette Martel; his children, Nicole Rattan Simms (Dan Simms), Linda Herchuck, Dereck Bessette (Christine) and Vincent Bessette; and his sisters, Colette Brunet (late Aurele) and Mercedes Guillemette (Norm). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Donations to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice in memory of Rudy will be gratefully acknowledged by his family.
