He is survived by: his wife Beverly Slade; his children, Robert Smith (Christine) of Kingston, Ontario, William Van (Melodie), Kruis of Halifax and Sheryl Van; his grandchildren, Conner, Jax, Kirsten, Kallum, Maddison and Chloe; his brothers, Douglas (Alice), Ross (Teresa), Fall River and John of Windsor Junction; and his nephew Colton Smith.
