With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Helen Rae Smeltzer (Wolfville, Nova Scotia), born in Scotsburn, Nova Scotia, who passed away on April 9, 2019. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Campbell and Cora Campbell (Rae); her husband Gerald "Gerry"; her daughter Margaret Higgins; and her sisters, Margaret Campbell and Marion MacDonald (Ian).
She is survived by: her children, Gary of Shubenacadie and Nancy Maxner (Barry) of Windsor; her grandchildren, Anne Higgins of Calgary, Alberta, Beth Higgins, Amy Bienkowski (Peter) of Ottawa, Ontario, John Maxner (Heather) of Airdrie, Alberta, Andrew Maxner (Charlotte) and Janet Redden (Josh) of Windsor; her great grandchildren, William, Nina Bienkowski, Charlie, Emily, Lucy Maxner, Leah and Megan Redden; and her son-in-law Terry Higgins of Halifax. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada (Atlantic) or a charity of your choice.
