He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Varrence and Florence Varrence (MacInnis); his former wife Velma Gilbert; his daughter Rhonda Matthys; his son-in-law Trevor Leadbeater; his grandson Brandon Varrence; and his siblings, Duncan and Cecilia Locke.
He is survived by: his wife Sandy; his stepdaughters, Tanya and Shannon MacLeod; his son-in-law Michael Matthys; his sisters, Jean, Gail and Wendy; his grandchildren, Ryan, Josh, Kaiden, Ryder, Ethan, Lucas, Kiley, Kinley, Brittany, Hannah and Aubrie; his great grandchild Rowan; and his close friends, Dwayne Vardy, Malcolm Campbell and Dave LeBlanc.
