He was predeceased by: his parent Charles Cogswell; his siblings, Brenda Rosetti and John; his daughter Lucy Jean; his brother Bill of Paul, Phillip; and his nephew Adam Cogswell.

He is survived by: his parent Ann Cogswell (Smith); his close friend Elaine (Hurley); his children, Robert (Joanna) and Angela (Bradley); his stepdaughters, Susie (Bobby) and Dawn; and his sister-in-law Catherine. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Leonard's St. Vincent de Paul food bank or charity of one's choice.
