With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sheila Mae Avery (Kentville, Nova Scotia), born in Waterville, Nova Scotia, who passed away on December 16, 2023 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold S. Reid and Muriel Reid (Lightfoot); her daughter Shari Avery; and her siblings, Eileen Smith, Karen Reid and Harold "Junior" Reid.

She is survived by: her husband Edwin Avery; her children, Martin (Jackie), Kim Wilkins (Dave), Derek Avery (Kelly) and Marla Avery (Colin); and her sister Pearl Suderman. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Donations in Sheila's memory may be made to Valley Hospice, Kentville.

“Sorry to hear of your loss. I used to see her and Ed every Sunday morning at the Coldbrook Tim Hortons. She was a very nice lady. She would talk to me some times and always said hello and then 'see you next week' when she left, as she knew I was always there every Sunday. I think the last time I saw her there was early last Autumn, and even though I didn't know her very well, I miss not seeing her there every week. I am sorry to hear of Sheila's passing.”
