He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Cahill and Nora Cahill (Mullane); and his sister Dr. Joan Cahill. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Kenny Cahill; and his children, Scott Cahill (Andrea), Susan Collins (Corry), Lynn Reilly (John) and Christi Cahill (Paul Sarty). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
