He was predeceased by: his parent Ambrose McLean; his siblings, Josephine "Tootie" and James "Jimmy"; his brother-in-law Leslie Westhaver; and his nephew Vernon McLean.

He is survived by: his parent Gertrude McLean (O'Conner) of Jacquet River, NB; his wife Stella (Nelson); his children, Susan Shaw (Bob) of Eastern Passage, Beverly Toronto (Amadeo Moreno), Cindy Beaman (Roland) of Cambridge and Michael (Sharon Watton); his sisters, Doris Patterson (George) of Oromocto and Dianna Westhaver of Sheet Harbour; and his sister-in-law Edith McLean of Bedford. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
