He was predeceased by: his parents, Stephen Troop and Helena Troop (Longmire); his wife Sharon Lynn Troop (Van Buskirk); and his brother James. He is survived by: his sons, Kim, Troy (Tracey), Todd and Kyle (Sarah); his sisters, Margaret Rogers and Janet Wadden; his sister-in-law Gloria Troop; and his grandchildren, Regan, Jordan, Dylan, Miles, Oliver, Brandon, Ally, Colby, Ivy and Jasper. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Red Cross, Atlantic Zone.
