She was predeceased by: her parents, Stanley Rideout and Kate Rideout; her daughter-in-law Marjorie Barnes; and her siblings, Cyril, Eric (Joyce), Wallace and Joyce Dove (Ray).

She is survived by: her husband Walter; her children, Bruce, Jim (Doris), Wilfred (Arlene), Danny (Francesca), Kevin (Gloria), Yvonne Boyd (Larry) and Tonya Barnes; her grandchildren, Sony, Vincent (Renuka), Amanda (Morgan), Ryan (Julia), Valene (Jeffrey), Bruce (Jennifer), Bradley, Trevor, Timothy, Holly (Preston), Sherry (Nick) and Gavin; her great grandchildren, Abigail, Ashley, Austin, Alexandre, Kiara, Alyssa, Tristan, Courtland, Kira, Maya and Beauden; her siblings, Douglas Rideout (Bernetta), Eliza Barnes (Doyle), Hettie Dalley (Harry) and Yvonne Jenkins (Mark); her sisters-in-law, Hilda Mehaney and Joyce Rideout; and her friend Trudy (Robin). She is also survived by other nephews, nieces, extended relatives.

In light of the current Covid-19 restrictions, the health and safety of our families and our community continues to be our highest priority.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be given in Alvie's honor to the Salvation Army Cemetery Fund or the Hospital Pond Community Garden.
