It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Scott Edward Hynes (Lewisporte, Newfoundland), who passed away on February 4, 2021, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hynes and Maggie Hynes; his son Brian Hynes; his grandson Lucas Porter; his stepmother Maude Hynes; his siblings, Mabel (Ralph Reid), Wilbert Hynes, Pearl Hynes, Clyde Hynes and Shirley (Gord Johnston); and his parents-in-law, Annie and Alfred Waterman.
He is survived by: his wife Betty; his children, Wanda (Edward Pelley) and Randy Hynes; his grandchildren, Justin (Brittany), Chantelle and Taylor; his great grandchildren, Kian, Kole and Kaylee; his brother Melvin Hynes (Josephine); and his sisters-in-law, Rhoda Hynes and Marjorie (Wendell Head). He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Public visitation will take place from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte on Saturday, February 6th from 1-4 PM following COVID government regulations.
