He was predeceased by: his parents, John Parsons and Kathleen Parsons; his siblings, Doris (William Hunt), Julia (Nick Wall) and Joseph Parsons (Roma); and his son-in-law Howard Pye.

He is survived by: his wife June; his children, John Jr. (Carol) and Jane Pye; his grandchildren, Wendy (Dave MacNeal), Aaron Parsons (Alana), Jo Ann (Stefan Moores) and Holly Pye (Sheldon Penney); and his great grandchildren, Chloe, Abigail Moores, Louise and Roland MacNeal. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
