He was predeceased by: his wife Blanche; his son Donald (Rose); his son-in-law Eric Noseworthy; and his parents, Thomas Coates and Maud Coates.
He is survived by: his children, Elizabeth Williams (David), Jean Cross (Randy), Reginald (Norma), Denise Littlejohn (Eugene), David (Shelley) and Carol Keough (Mike); his grandchildren, Wanda Weir-Oliver (Ron), Brian Vanderburg (Anne Degryse), Karen Cross, Darryl Cross (Krista), Sean Noseworthy (Amy), Natasha Burdeyney (Mike) and Michael Coates; his sister Florence Vanderburg; and his sister-in-law Nellie Coates. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Due to Covid-19, a private service will be held and date for a memorial service will be announced later.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation will be gratefully accepted.
