It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Derek Raymond Dennis (Deer Lake, Newfoundland), who passed away on February 25, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Herb Dennis and Mary Dennis; and his siblings, Doris, Marion, Boyd and Fred.
He is survived by: his wife Lucy; his daughter Tracy (Brent); his grandchildren, Katherine (Steven), Sarah (Adam) and Kirklin; his great grandchildren, Erin, Avery, Jane, Keir, Scarlett and Tessa; his siblings, Shirley, Lloyd, Marina (Melvin) and Arch (Viola); his in-laws, Samuel and Dorothy Simmonds; and his siblings-in-law, William Wilton, Harvey Peddle, William Park, Joseph Bennett, Mable Grace Wilton (Irene), Rachel Dennis, Margaret Simmonds and Violet Hackett. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel (63 Main St N, Deer Lake, NL A8A1X1). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
