He was predeceased by: his parents, James Pumphrey (Carbonear) and Eileen Pumphrey; and his siblings, Jack Hearn (Joan), Ron Hearn (Carbonear), Anna Pumphrey (Carbonear), James (Bobby), Alice Sullivan and Eddie Pumphrey (Carbonear).
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Thomey (Carbonear); his siblings, Billy Pumphrey (Betty), Margaret Butt (Will), Mary Somers (Harry) and Stella Dakins (Fred); his siblings-in-law, Brendan Sullivan, Ronald Thomey, Kenneth Thomey (Crystal), Geraldine Reid (Gary) and Jean Thomey (Roy); his close friend Phil Hurley; and his friends, Nellie and Gene.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Slade's Funeral Home (31 Powell Dr, Carbonear, NL A1Y 1A5). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church (17 St Clare Ave, Carbonear, NL A0A1T0).
