He was predeceased by: his parents, Emery Brown and Ethel Brown (McQuinn); his significant other Pauline Gillies; his son Donnie; and his siblings-in-law, George Walker and Dorothy Gillies.
He is survived by: his children, John (Nancy) of Riverview, Nancy Barnett (Ivan) of Cochrane, Alberta, Judy Stockdale-Dow (Don) of Sussex, Patsy Ste, Marie (Jeff) of London, Ont, David (Edith) of Sussex and Doug (Jackie) of Smith's Cove, N. S; his daughter-in-law Rollande Brown; his grandchildren, Andrew (Leemor), Joanna (Guy), Peggy (James), Ryan (Julie), Anthony (Meghann), Korey, Paula (Tony), Lisa (Erik), Chad (Shannon), Nick (Tara), Kelly (Jarrett), Chris (Maite), Amy (Ethan), Mike, Breanna (Jacob), Heidi, Nathan and Marcus; his siblings, Margaret Walker-Greer (Irvine) of Sussex, Joan Morse (David) of Newburyport, MA and Rev. Walter Ridley (MaryAnn) of Toronto; and his brother-in-law Donald Gillies of Sussex. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews and cousins along with a host of friends.
