He was predeceased by: his parents, Karl Olsen and Bertha Olsen (Renolds); and his brother Peter Olsen. He is survived by: his wife Gloria Olsen (Middleton); his sons, Donald Olsen and Doug (Denise); and his sisters, Betty Humphrey (Cecil) and Mary Shediac. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
