He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Monteith and Minnie Monteith; his wife Heloise; his siblings, Alice Reardon (Bill), Marion Jones-Montgomery, Harrison (Nina), Ronald (Helen) and Gerald (Shirley); his son Robert; and his great grandchildren, Gabe and Brennan Bubar.
He is survived by: his children, Esther (Allison), Judy (Donald), Nancy (Gregory), Louise (Ronald), Doreen (Mark) and John (Darlene); his sister Marie (Basil); and his sisters-in-law, Joan (Ken), Gloria (George) and Gwen (Douglas). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Grafton Baptist Church, River Valley Cancer Support Group and Luxor Shriners.
