She was predeceased by: her husband Douglas A. Brooks; and her parents, Mary Elizabeth Cook and Alfred Albert Hill. She is survived by: her children, Cindy Furey of Newfoundland, John Brooks of Newfoundland and Karen Cater (Ross) of Newfoundland; her grandchildren, Patrick Furey (Poorva), Elizabeth, Lauren Furey, Dianna Brooks (Jason), Tristan and Dana Cater; her great grandchild Anushka Furey; her sister-in-law Caroline Brooks of Ottawa; and her cousin Claire Batt (Bill). She is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St Margaret's Memorial Fund, the SPCA, or a charity of one's choice.
