He was predeceased by: his parents, Kihyoye Otsuji (George Sr.) and Fumiko Otsuji (Furukawa); his siblings, Allan and June; his parents-in-law, Jack and Sarah Smith; and his brothers-in-law, Grant and Gale Smith.

He is survived by: his wife Winona; his sons, Brent (Kim) and Mikayla (Peter); his great grandchild Keesha (Dustin); his children, Sarah-Lynne, Georgina (Jonah), Caylen, Hannah, Aubrey, Kenji (Cheryl), Keane, Claire and Ivy; his siblings, Jean Silo, Vera Boyd (Stuart) and David (Mona); his in-laws, Linda Wright (Alan), Linda Smith and Debbie Smith; and his pet George Maki III. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.
