She was predeceased by: her parents, Gothards Ruza and Hermine Ruza; her son Edvins (Ojars); her siblings, Dzidra, Ritma and Olgerts; and her niece Gundega.

She is survived by: her daughter Zinta Akkerman (Paul); her grandsons, Nikolas Akkerman (Laura) and Evan Akkerman (Kaitlyn); her great grandchild Theo Akkerman; and her sister Aina. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews, her cousins.
