He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Medwid and Mary Medwid; his wife Kathleen Morgan (Kay); his parents-in-law, Gordon and Dora Morgan; and his granddaughter Amanda Medwid.

He is survived by: his children, Ron Medwid (Gladys), Ken Medwid (Heather), Dennis Medwid (Glenda) and Carla Newransky (Michael); his grandchildren, Diana (Nick), Darryl (Katelynn), Bryan (Christina), Holly (Michael), Julie (Jason), Stacey, Mark (Lindsay), Jocelyn (Chris), Megan (Jordan) and Joshua (Sophie); and his great grandchildren, Kacey, Brooke, Ava, Chloe, Ethan, Jace, George, Clara, Maisie, Scarlett, Theo, Callum and Baby Kamerman.
