He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Valerie; his children, Darren (Teresa) and Tricia; his brother Bruce (Georgina); his grandchildren, Cleo, Athena, Rebecca, Aylin and Rowan; and his parents, Harry Adderley and Cora Adderley.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 14th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the St. John (1611 Quadra St, Victoria, BC V8W2L5).

“I am so sad to learn of Doug" death.He was such a kind and generous friend. When I first attended St Joun's church in 2001 it was Val and Doug who welcomed me so warmly. Doug also was a great help to me when I was anticipating a hip replacement. He had been through it, and gave me sound advice. I will miss that lovely man. My deepest sympathy to Val and family.”
