He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Pauline Gillespie; his sons, David Howlett and Bradley Gillespie (Michelle); his parents, Alice and Wilbert; his brothers, Mick and Barry; and his grandsons, Max, Spencer and Leo. He was also cherished by six loving grandchildren and many extended family.
