He was predeceased by: his wife Penny; his parents, George Thomson and Amelia Thomson; his sister Marion Davison; and his sister-in-law Karna Staton.

He is survived by: his children, Dwayne Thomson (Sheelagh), Heathe and Schnell; his grandchildren, Kellen, Riley and Aaron; his great grandchildren, Aubri and Brinlee; his siblings, Evelyn (Sandy) and Cecil Thomson (Marie); his siblings-in-law, Jack Davison and Judy Borserio (Larry); and also Sands.
