He was predeceased by: his parents, Caleb McLean and Annie McLean; his wives, Suna and Margaret; his siblings, Daisy, Flora Baker, Bill, Leander, Walter, Leroy and Harry; and his stepdaughter Yvonne Johnson.
He is survived by: his children, Geoffrey (Karen), Jeannette Mack (Raines), Scott (Dianne) and Sheila McPhee (Dan); his stepchildren, Patrick Gear, Terry-Lynn Booker (John) and Donna Gear; his friends, Monica Dary, Burner Dave Nabor and Paddy Nicholson; his niece Jessie Fletcher; his caregivers, Audrey and Denise; his pet Bonnie; his sister Esther Bond; his sisters-in-law, Ruth and Gladys; and his stepson-in-law Jeff Johnson. He is also survived by 10 step-grandchildren and 23 step-great grandchildren.
