“I’m so sad to hear of Shirley’s passing. Jack, you might remember me as that ‘wild’ teen who lived across from your first house on E 23rd. Shirley befriended me and was a positive influence at a much-needed time. I encountered her periodicallythrough the subsequent years, often at the Spot. It was a great surprise in later years to see that we had all moved into the McCk area. Sadly, we never found the time to re-connect properly. I so wish we had. What a wonderful, warm person Shirley was!”
