He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucy Elizabeth and Ronald Underwood. He is survived by: his granddaughter Ciara; his wife Jan; his children, Lucy Raven (Matthew), Leon Underwood (Camille), Lara Underwood (Chris) and Lorna Backus (Kevin); his granddaughters, Emily and Abigail; and his siblings, Bruce Underwood (Editha), Graham Underwood (Jen) and Jane Underwood (Ron).
He was sad that the Black Knight Inn closed during COVID and he was never able to return.
