Jim Giesbrecht Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jim Giesbrecht of Red Deer, Alberta, who passed away on August 11, 2020, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Jim Giesbrecht to pay them a last tribute.

He is survived by: his significant other Barbara Giesbrecht; his children, Laurie Jansen (Brian) and Terry Giesbrecht (Tosha); his grandchildren, James, Lindsay and Paisley; his siblings, Vi Smith (Earl), Gord Cuff (Lori) and Wilford Cuff (Josi); his sisters-in-law, Louisa Giesbrecht and Iris Inglis; and his close friend Helen Ruttan. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

One of Jim's greatest joys in his life was watching his grandkids play hockey and baseball, therefore, in lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Red Deer Kidsport - an organization giving other kids the opportunity to play sport.

Words of sympathy

Terry Robson wrote a sympathy message

“Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to son Terry and daughter Laurie and their families. I had the great pleasure to work with Jim at Christies for many years. He had an enduring sense of humor that was always a pleasure to be with. I remember how proud he was with the birth of each of his grandchildren; and I know they will carry that love with them throughout their lives. We will certainly cherish the memories we have from Jim and Barb touching our lives. Most sincerely, Terry and Susan Robson”
