He was predeceased by: his wife Dora Matthews; his son Vernon; and his great grandchildren, Keegan and Ashley. He is survived by: his children, Esther Corrigan (Russell), Verna Johnston (Glen), Charlotte O'Hare (Albert), Elmer Matthews (Danette) and Edwin Matthews (Bonnie); his grandchildren, Charleen Herle, Heather Brooks, Trisha McLaren, Todd Johnston, Glenda Williams, Greg O'Hare, Joni Bahm, Crystal Hawryluk, Travis Matthews, Melissa Schafer, Vanessa Kaschl and Joshua Matthews; and his brother-in-law Merv Goodman. He is also survived by twenty one great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren.
