He was predeceased by: his parents, John "Jay" William and Oda Amanda Rice; his wife Loretta "Lori" Rice; his sons, Richard and Chad; and his siblings, Bill, Henry, Garnet, Thelma and Viola.

He is survived by: his close friend Elaine; his sister Julie Heisler; his daughter Laurie-Lynne Rice (Ed Coleman); his daughter-in-law Yvette Rice; his grandchildren, Jody Rice (Trevor Scott), Debbie Rice, Morgan Fournier and Adam Fournier (Samantha); and his great grandchildren, Emma, Carter, Grace and Kalie. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
