He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Murakami; his son Brian; and his parents, Morehei Murakami and Suki Murakami. He is survived by: his children, Carol Pickett (Garry) and Wesley Murakami (Sheila); his brother-in-law Tokio Hori; his nephew John Murakami (Pauline); his niece Linda Gallant (Al); his granddaughters, Chiyoko Kensley, Crystal Weitz (Brent), Michelle Kensley (Paul), Jacinda Gatz-Murakami (Barry) and Mysha Murakami (James); his great grandchildren, Paytyn, Mia, Noa and Kobe; his siblings, Hayako, Phillip and Luke; his parents-in-law, Kahichi and Yone Hori; and his brother-in-law George Hori.
