He was predeceased by: his former wife Laura; and his children, Walter, Ronald and Judy Ann. He is survived by: his wife Hazel Christopherson; and his children, Alice, Violet, Berniece (Mickey), Dwayne (Kim), Ruth, Allan (Analyn) and Brenda (John). He is also survived by thirty grandchildren, sixty-one great-grandchildren, and sixteen great-great-grandchildren.
