He is survived by: his wife Liu Hung Kwan; his sons, Edward Kwan and William Kwan; and his grandchildren, Matthew Kwan, James Kwan, Esther Kwan and Elizabeth Kwan.
He was born into a prominent family, and his family history is a microcosm of the modern history of the Chinese nation; he has set many records for the Chinese people in Canada, and his outstanding contributions to Canada and the local Chinese community are obvious to all.
