He was predeceased by : his parents, Olivia Rucker Mills and Coke Mills; and his sisters, Anne Underwood, Emily McKelvain and Margaret McDaniel.

He is survived by : his wife Margaret Rose Mills; and his son Richard Coke Mills, III. He is also survived by nine nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Oakwood Cemetery (2124 S 5th St, Waco, TX 76706).
