He was predeceased by : his parents, Preston Strickland and Ella Jones Strickland; his wife Polly; his son John; and his brother Charles.

He is survived by : his daughters, Deborah (Mark Klepacz) and Sandra (Al Cumming). He is also survived by five grandchildren.
