He was predeceased by : his parents, Carnis Poynor and Virginia Poynor; his son Jesse Allen Poynor; and his brother Robert N. Poynor (Bob). He is survived by : his wife Zulean Fisher; his children, Britt Poynor (Marla) of Big Lake and Penny Whitten (Sam) of Comanche; his grandchildren, Clay Butler (Joy), Shawn Poynor (Anita), Casey Poynor (Krystle), Megan Herbert (West) and Courtney Robles (Rocky); his great grandchildren, Kye (Lauren), Taven, Paris, David, Dylan, Kylie, Rhett, Avery, Britton, Ryen, Brynn, Allie and Evelyn; and his siblings-in-law, Janette Poynor and Dale Fisher (Vicky). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation was held on Sunday, May 19th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Comanche Funeral Home (411 W Grand Ave, Comanche, TX 76442). A funeral service was held on Monday, May 20th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (407 N Houston St, Comanche, TX 76442).
